John Mc Kissack was baptized on the 15th of March, 1829, at Braddan. He married Margaret Sayle on the 4th of May, 1861, at Malew. He was buried at Malew on the 19th of August, 1900, when his age was recorded as 71 years.
In 1841 he was living with his widowed mother at Ballashott, Malew. In 1851 he was employed as a labourer at the mines and still living with his mother at Ballashott. By 1861 he was employed as a clerk at the lime works, an employment he continued for the rest of his life. At this time he was still living with his mother at Peel Road. In 1871 he and his family were living at 5, Malew Road. In 1881 the family were living at Lime Hill Corner. By 1891 the family were living in Ballasalla.
