Louisa Adie was baptized on the 12th of July, 1848, at Rushen. She married Matthew John Grose on the 21st of September, 1867, at Braddan. She was still alive at the census of 1901.
In 1851 and 1861 she was living with her parents at Cross-e-Caly, Rushen. In 1871 she is assisting her widowed mother who ran a lodging house at 70, Bucks Road, Douglas. In 1881 she and her family were living at 61, Athol Street, Douglas, when she was described as a tobacconist. Her mother was listed as a dependent. In 1891 she was living at 10, Grafton Street with her son, Eden, and mother. In 1901 she was living at 16, Oxford Street and employed as a dressmaker. In every census from 1871 on she is recorded as "married" but her husband Matthew John Grose does not appear in any census.
