Isabella Tate was born ca 1747 at Marown the daughter of John Tate & Eleanor Shimmin. She married William Kinrade ca 1868 at Santan. She was buried at Patrick on the 23rd of June, 1938, when her age was recorded as 92 years and her residence as the Railway Hotel, Ballaugh.
Isabella's parents, who married on the 1st of November, 1845, at Marown, have not yet been fully identified. Her mother, Eleanor Shimmin, appears to have been the illegitimate daughter of Catherine E Kermode and William Shimmin.
Catherine Kermode is shown as "unmarried, mother-in-law" to John & Eleanor Tate in the 1851 census. In 1841 she appears to be living on the farm of William Shimmin.
