James Quarry was baptizedon the 25th of December, 1820, at Lezayre. He married Margaret Donnan ca 1862 (no record yet found) and moved to England ca 1868, probably to Barrow-in-Furness.
In 1841-51 he was living with his widowed mother at Ballavodden, Andreas. In 1861, unmarried, he was still farming at Ballavodden with Mary his niece as housekeeper. He has not been identified in the 1871 census. In 1881 the family were living at 66, Anson Street, Barrow-in-Furness when he was employed as a pattern maker.
Margaret Donnan was baptized in August, 1826, at Glasserton, Wigtownshire, Scotland, the daughter of Alexander Donnan & Janet McConell.
