Elizabeth Arnold was baptized on the 4th of September, 1832, at Malew. She married firstly William Lawton on the 5th of June 1852, at Onchan and secondly James Lawson on the 23rd of June, 1867, at Lonan. She was buried on the 7th of September, 1888, at Lonan when her age was recorded as 55 years.
Her father was an agricultural labourer and seems to have moved extensively as her siblings were baptized in Oncha, Ballaugh and Malew. By 1841 the family seems to have settled in Lonan being recorded at Ballajean. In 1851 the family is recorded at Ballamilgyn, Lonan. At this time the birth place for the whole family is given as Lonan. In 1861 she and her daughter were living with her widowed mother in Laxey Village. She was described as a "soldier's wife". Although her second husband and family were living at 3, Dumbells Road, Laxey, in 1871, she has not been identified in the census. In 1881 she and her family were living at 35, Glen Road, Laxey, though her age is recorded as 42 years.
