Edward Lawson was baptized on the 14th of August, 1763, at Rushen. A fisherman, he married Eleanor Moore on the 9th of December, 1790, at Rushen.
On the night of the 12th of August, 1793, two fishing boats collided in the dark. Of the fourteen men aboard the two vessels only one, John Taylor, survived. A memorial in Rushen Church give the names of the victims Henry Watterson & son, Henry Steich & son, William Watterson, Edward Miller, William Watterson, Richard Christian, John Maddrell, John Keig, Edward Gell, Edward Lawson and William Gell.
Thomas Lawson was baptized on the 25th of September, 1791, at Rushen. He married Catherine Kermode (1790-1857) on the 14th of May, 1818, at Rushen. He was buried on the 17th of April, 1855, at Rushen. There was no issue of the marriage.
In 1835 Thomas was listed as one of the Churchwardens of Rushen.The census of 1841 shows Thomas & Catherine farming at Port Iron (Erin). In 1851 they were farming 9 acres (freehold) at Droughadfaile, Rushen. Living with the couple were two nieces:- Catherine Kermode aged 28 years and Thirza Collister aged 8 years.
