James Lawson was baptized on the 4th of August, 1822, at Lonan. He married firstly Elizabeth Young ca 1857 and secondly Elizabeth Lawton ne Arnold on the 23rd of June, 1867, at Lonan. He was buried on the 12th of April, 1903, at Lonan.
A tailor, he was living with his widowed mother in 1851. Some time after this he moved to England where he met and married Elizabeth Young. Elizabeth died towards the end of 1866 and James and his children returned to Laxey. Here James married Elizabeth Lawton nee Arnold.
Elizabeth Young (1814) was born ca 1822. She married James Lawson ca 1857, probably in Birkenhead or Liverpopol. Two of her children were baptized at St. Peter, Liverpool, while in the census returns the other two children give their birth place as Cheshire. She died at Rock Ferry, Cheshire, on the 13th of December, 1866.
