Catherine Harrison 1803 - 1867

Catherine Harrison was baptized on the 30th of March, 1803, at German. She married Christopher Corkish on the 31st of October, 1837, at Rushen. The 1841 census shows her living with her husband at Surby, Rushen. In 1851 the couple were farming 8 acres at Surby. In 1861, a widow, she was working as an agricultural labourer in Surby. Her age is recorded as 65 years when it should have been 58.

The burial transcripts of the IoM FHS shows a burial of Catherine Corkish on the 8th of January, 1861, aged 64, at Rushen. If the transcription is in error and the year should be 1867 then we have a good match. The original Register need to be consulted.
