Agnes Bell McIndoe was born on the 16th of December, 1843, at the Gorbals, Glasgow, Scotland. She was the second child (3 brothers) of Robert Muir McIndoe and Agnes Dixon. She married John Lawson on the 12th of November, 1872, at the Islington Presbyterian Church, Liverpool. Some time after the death of her husband in 1904 she emigrated to New Zealand with her daughter and family. She died in Palmerston on the 25th of April, 1929. (The Telford family is believed to have returned to Scotland shortly afterwards as no further records have been found in New Zealand.)
