Lilian Amelia Baker was born on the 29th July, 1881, in Birkenhead. She married William Lawson on the 23rd November, 1904 at St. Paul's, Birkenhead, when she was described as a spinster, aged twenty-two years, the daughter of Walter Baker (a commercial traveller) residing at 5, Lowwood Grove. The witnesses were Walter Baker, George A Baker and Agnes Maude Lawson. Separated from her husband 1930(?). At some time she suffered the loss of hearing in her right ear. Supported herself from then on. Housekeeper to Lord and Lady Duferin in Ireland. Housekeeper at Ballqueenie Hotel, Port St. Mary. During the Second World War served in the Red Cross. Worked in a munitions factory at Ashford, Kent. Lived with daughter-in-law, Isabel Kinrade at Wye and Welling, Kent. After the War, worked for a time as Supervisor of a School kitchens in Welling before moving to the Isle of Man to live with her son and family. Became housekeeper, living at 2, Montenotte Road, Crouch End. Lilian converted to the Roman Catholic faith. She died on a thursday in October 1961 in Westcliffe-on-Sea, Essex.
